Google is dabbling with their Daydream platform with some shiny new 6DOF Daydream controllers, only for the Lenovo Mirage Solo.

The developers page at Google VR has posted a page on new controllers which are on the experimental phase of development. According to the website, the experimental Daydream 6DoF controllers allows users to build 6DoF experiences for the Lenovo Mirage Solo with Daydream, with all the relevant bells and whistles of more degrees of freedom.

This is particularly interesting as adding 6DOF support is seen as a great hurdle to overcome for further mainstream adoption as it opens the gate for more types of VR experiences which the consumer market can enjoy.

No date has been supplied for a full release, or any details on how good the controllers are. Time will tell whether they can be effective for gameplay.
