Oculus Go is meant to sit between Gear VR and Oculus Rift. A cordless headset, it requires no PC to run. it is also an excellent headset to use.
While basic, its pick up and go system is great for people roaming around. Its biggest draw is the lack of PC needed to run. While the 3DoF controllers leave much to be desired, the headset is ‘good enough’ for many people to have a grand time.
It is also great to show to friends and family. Strapping in family members, then playing around, is a great use of time and for the family. The casting mechanic also works well for sharing experiences. Overall, an excellent headset which I used a lot of this year.
