‘This is Progress’ takes us inside & ringside to see the rough, raw, brutal, beautiful world of ‘UK Indie Punk Wrestling’. Peter Collis and Jessica Driscoll wanted to tell the story of British independent wrestling resurgence & young promoters staging sell-out shows across the country.

The film was an independent production with kind help from many friends giving up time on Sundays for shoots and edits and a real labour of love for VR. The wrestling is playful, physical, brutal, foul-mouthed and beautiful and also highlights female wrestlers and the equality that wrestling has with the intergender matches.

It’s also worth mentioning that at 24 mins it’s proper documentary length and let”s you dive into the underground world of Progress Championship bouts, held monthly at Camden’s famously edgy Electric Ballroom. In the film we meet fans and male & female wrestlers, who give us their take on what makes these unique and must see events. Peter Collis’s VR cinematography sets a new benchmark in Virtual Reality film craft as the viewer is transported both ringside and amongst the baying crowd and Jessica’s energy as your guide to the scene is full of enthusiasm and curiosity. This is a VR experience that explores Progress and beyond.
